McLaren P1 vs. Porsche 918 Spyder vs. Ducati 1199 Superleggera - drag race
This is by far, one of the best races to 200mph I have ever seen!!! I am not sure who you will put your money on, but the one I did would have left me dodging henchmen trying to recoup their money. Over all though, it really is a great race!! Place your bets...

1991 Porsche 911, Reimagined by Singer - Jay Leno's Garage
I am a long time Porsche fan and this Singer rebuild is the bee's knees!! It is everything you could ask for being both classic and modern at the same time!! There will be one in my garage one day and with prices starting at only (cough…) $350,000, I might want to start pinching my pennies now...

Aston Martin Releases Official Photos of Production Lagonda Supersedan – News – Car and Driver | Car and Driver Blog
Although the new Aston Martin Lagonda is clearly more attractive than it's predecessor, it is still not a very attractive vehicle. If I had a choice though, of which one I would own, it would more than likely be the older model. The mere fact that there were only 645 produced between 1974 and 1990 means that it can wear the honored badge of being a collectors item. There seems to only be about 80 or so left in existence and only about 30 actually on the road, so to own one would be having a small piece of Aston Automotive history. Even though I am sure the new model will also be sold in limited numbers as well, the character and design of the original was groundbreaking at the time and thus makes it more desirable to me.

2015 Vencer Sarthe Production Model Unveiled
The figures look good on this hot new number, but I can't whole heartedly get behind the styling. At most angles it looks good, but from the back it looks sort of cheap. I don't care too much for the taillights of the exhaust. What's your take on the Vencer Sarthe?

Cadillac's Ultra-Luxe Flagship to Be Built in Detroit – News – Car and Driver | Car and Driver Blog
I am not a Cadillac person at all and they rarely make this blog, but if they produce this puppy and make it look like the prototype, I just might have to add a spot on Driven™ for ole Caddy…ehh, maybe not.

My FAB 5!!!
So my wife asked me if I had to pick just five cars to put at the top of my list, which ones would they be and why? That is a really difficult question, but the answer is even more mind boggling. There are so many awesome vehicles running through my mind that I want to pick, but she says I can only pick five. So here we go…
5. Toyota 2000 GT is my in my number five spot. I love this car because it is aesthetically beautiful. The lines sweep down on the rear quarter panel towards the tail as they casually cascade away from the long sloping bonnet. The placement of the side mirrors and overall styling puts you in the mind of the classic Jaguar E-Type. Even though, by class, they are worlds apart, by shear beauty alone they are kindred spirits. This car is should be considered visual art.
2. The Koenigsegg Agera R solidly holds down the number 2 position my list. When Koenigsegg jumped on the scene in 2002 with it's production model the CC85, critics were sure that they would just be another passing fancy gobbled up by the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini. Founder Christian von Koenigsegg had other plans and has not looked back since. Although there have been other models made by the hyper-car manufacturer, the Agera R is my personal favorite. From the styling, to the power, to the paint schemes, I love every inch of this car. I can't wait for the day to come when I open one of the bay doors on my five car garage, hit the unlock button on my mini replica key fob and see those indicators flash at me saying "come on big boy…take me for a spin". It will be like a going on my first date with the girl I secretly loved from afar every time I drive it.
5. Toyota 2000 GT is my in my number five spot. I love this car because it is aesthetically beautiful. The placement of the side mirrors and overall styling puts you in the mind of the classic Jaguar E-Type. Even though, by class, they are worlds apart, by shear beauty alone they are kindred spirits. 4. The Nissan GT-R takes the number 4 position. This car is the giant killer. It is not the best looking vehicle in my line up, but it is one of the most exciting!! When it was first released, it had all these stipulations and different restrictions on modifications. You couldn't even put aftermarket parts or wheels on it for a long time without voiding the warranty. Once people got beyond that (and the transmission issues during launch) the possibilities of tuning became endless for this beast!! With just a few bolt on parts and tuning, the horsepower of this monster can skyrocket from a modest 545 to like a gazillion!! And for the price, "bang for your buck" is an understatement.
3. The Porsche 918 rolls in (quietly) at number 3. This car is just scientifically phenomenal!! It is what a hybrid should be. Now I know that everyone is clamoring about the P1 and it is REALLY nice, but the 918 is equally nice, its better looking and it has navigation. Now to some, this means absolutely nothing, but for me, it shows that Porsche is still the king of building functional super cars that you can drive as well as enjoy daily. Sorry McLaren, I really do like the P1, but when I am ready to drop 800k on a new super car, Porsche will be receiving my check.
1. There are some great cars on this list, but my number 1 pic, in my opinion, is the perfect combination of each of the vehicles that preceded it. My number one choice for the Driven™Top 5 countdown is none other than…..the Pagani Huayra.
If all the symphonies, paintings and poetry of the world could be melted down and made into a car, that car would be the Pagani Huayra. This machine is beautiful from every angle both inside and out. The unrelenting 750 horsepower of the twin turbo, AMG V-12 would be enough to make Mother Teresa cuss like a dirty south rapper every time her loafer touched the accelerator. The carbon fiber body is like that of a fitness model who has trained tirelessly for months to compete in a competition that she was destined to win whether she showed up or not. And the interior is every 7 star hotel room in Dubai condensed down to a single tailor made cockpit. The gratuitous use of carbon fiber, leather and aluminum in this thing is mind blowing. To merely see this car is gratifying enough, so owing one would have to be like dying everyday single day and going to heaven, but being able to rise from the dead the next morning and live your life like it never happened. This car should be sold in the Smithsonian.
